Cold Plates

Cold Plates

Cold plates are key cooling devices in high-power applications with limited space due to their compact design combined with efficient heat dissipation capabilities.
Optimize Product Performance

Why ToffeeX

  • Optimize flow paths and minimize pressure drops in the system.
  • Maximize heat transfer.
  • Reduce the weight of your cold plate.

In conventional designs, heat from devices in contact with the cold plate is transferred to a coolant flowing through the plate. Typically the flow follows a serpentine channel that is designed through a trial-and-error process.

The choice of path and cross-sectional area of the channel itself ultimately influence pressure drop and heat transfer performance.

ToffeeX’s advanced topology optimization mimics the process of natural evolution to design the best flow path, minimize pressure losses and operating temperature.

No more serpentines.

Industries We Serve

Cold plates are of great value to a wide range of industries. These are some we currently work with.

Aerospace

Avionics, such as radar systems and communication equipment, rely on cold plates to operate smoothly under a range of harsh environmental conditions. Efficient cold plates are required to maintain the operational readiness of mission-critical devices.

Automotive

Cold Plates are extensively used in battery pack thermal management for electric vehicles. Enhanced heat dissipation improves longevity and safety, preventing overheating and thermal runaway.

Electronics

Electronic devices are becoming smaller and more powerful, leading to a significant challenge in managing the heat generated by these components. Liquid cold plates are an efficient way to ensure optimal operation by dissipating excess heat.
